Touch: drag left or right on the picture or the steering pad to steer (drag up or down to move in the menu); GAS, BRAKE and BOOST are under the other thumb. GAS also starts from the menu.

Menu: ↑↓ pick a line, ←→ change it, Enter (or X / Z) starts. Four tracks: Neo City, Blue Deep (the ocean), Gold Wind (a crosswind over the wheat) and Old Port (one very tight hairpin); five strengths of rival; race, practice or two-player link.

Keys: ←→ steer · X / Space = accelerate · Z or ↓ = brake, and with ←→ a skid turn · ↑ = boost (one per lap) · Shift = engine sound on/off · after a race, Enter = go again and Shift = menu · Enter + Shift together = menu · F = fullscreen · gamepads supported (bottom/left face button or right shoulder = accelerate, right/top face button or left shoulder = brake)

Corners throw you wide with the square of your speed, so brake for them; hitting the rail costs most of your speed. Rough dark patches are dirt, blocks are barriers, flashing white patches are boost pads, the black strip is a jump. The white strip after the start line recharges health. A mistake lets a rival pounce. The little car along the top of the sky shows how far round the lap you are. Two-player link needs two consoles and a cable, so not this page.
